Fury
Opening the paper- any paper - and one word stands out. It’s everywhere, prefacing articles and seeping out into consciousness of Britain from the dense, molten cores from which it sprouts.
Fury
Fury at life; fury at words. Fury at Wossy, Thatcher, Clarkson, Brown etc etc, fury at you, me, at councils, at snow ploughs, at this that and the other, fury exploding from mouths and pens, fury of the Scots and the middle English, fury from the suburbs and estates, fury in the Mail, fury in the Times.
Enough fury. Enough because it is inevitably and clearly bullshit. Whenever any media outlet uses the word “fury” somewhere sloppy journalism, idiocy, madness and a complete distortion of what is actually happening is taking place.
e.g. “fury” at the latest 80s homage Virgin advert. They missed off a total of 29 people. And probably they were only mildly pissed off.
So from henceforth whensoever I shall spy the word fury in a newspaper, I shall passeth over the article, for in it shall be non-sense.
