A Twitterverse; the Tweetsphere; Twiction

Twitter is slowly taking over my brain. I can tweet through a browser; on my home desktop via Twhirl; on my my Blackberry with Twitterberry and on my iPod Touch with Twitterific. I use Mr. Tweet to optimise my follows, and marvel at Twittervision. Twitter and it’s API is revealing the truth about social networking: that it is not a harmless way of connecting, but rather is a pathological and desperate addiction that once entered into can never be broken. It’s a sickness, a compulsion, an insidious obsession. And I love it.

As the API spawns ever more niche Twittering applications and as Twitter’s user base continues to mushroom to the extent that it is now, almost, mainstream then truly shall we enter the Twitterverse, the spatio-temporal realm of 140 characters or less.
