Silicon Roundabout

This is a heartwarming tale if ever there was one. While the US has the vastness, the epic scale of Silicon Valley, the UK has the homely, slightly suburban sounding Silicon Roundabout.

Two things make this cool, other than the sheer charm. Firstly it’s just great to see a the UK new media industry kicking ass. These are awesome companies- Dopplr, Last.fm, Moo and so on, they all reek of Web 2.0 cool, entrepreneurship and design. Secondly its good to see that Shoreditch is getting some substance and synergy. It always seemed like the new media element was missing from the creative (pretentious?) ferment.
