Shunt
Shunt was the best club in London, an extraordinary Victorian space occupying the industrial catacombs beneath London bridge.
Entry was a via an anonymous door in the tube station, leading to a long dark tunnel, which eventually opened in to the labrythine and cavernous spaces of the clubs itself.
Art events; decent people; alcoves where shoes were banned; space and darkness. It had everything.
Since the opening its populated by “chavs and children”. Its garish and unpleasant and horribly commercialised. Its lost something.
